Summer Reading Success

Sep. 27, 2023

The Standard Municipal Library enjoyed an incredible Summer Reading Program. The program's theme was 'Inquiring Minds' and boasts 40 children and teens registered, with over 150 in attendance at the special events that were curated to curiosity and science. The events included ice cream volcanos, solar s'mores, rocket flingers, rain clouds in a jar, and the highly anticipated wrap up party, complete with a piñata.

The grand prize winners were:

  • Mike Vail in the ages 5 and under category, winning a Junior Jungle sound activated trampoline.
  • Kaylee Nielsen in the ages 6-8 category, winning a Slackers Sky Board with motion activated LED lights.
  • Ruben Unger in the ages 9-12 category, winning a Razor Pro-X stunt scooter.
  • Silas Winters in the teen category, winning a Joyland Theater Fun Pack including 4 Movie Passes with concessions.

Congratulations to all who participated! The library and staff are grateful to the ongoing support from you, our community, via the Community Christmas Card donations and the Standard Lionettes, which make this amazing program possible.
